Field studies were conducted in Rome within the scope of the TÜBİTAK-supported research project titled “An Innovative System Proposal for the Integration of Urban Renewal and Retrofitting to Improve the Existing Building Stock in Reducing Seismic Risk in Istanbul.”

Led by Prof. Dr. Şevkiye Şence Türk, the project team, including Prof. Dr. Ahmet Murat Türk, Asst. Prof. Sezen Tarakçı, Asst. Prof. Numan Kılınç, and Dr. Nuray Çolak Tatlı, held various academic and institutional meetings during this process.

At the roundtable meeting organized at the Chamber of Architects of Rome, different approaches to urban regeneration and earthquake risk reduction were discussed. In addition, a mutual exchange of information on the project was held with Sapienza University. As part of the field studies, the project team also met with H.E. Elif Çomoğlu Ülgen, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Rome.
