The workshop titled “Common Ground for Resilient Cities: Integrating Structural Retrofitting and Urban Transformation,” organized within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 1001 project led by Prof. Dr. Şevkiye Şence Türk, brings together experts from different institutions and disciplines on a shared discussion platform.

The workshop is being held as part of the research project titled “An Innovative System Proposal for the Integration of Urban Renewal and Retrofitting to Improve the Existing Building Stock in Reducing Seismic Risk in Istanbul.”

With contributions from invited experts and institutional representatives from various disciplines, the workshop will address structural retrofitting and urban transformation processes through an integrated approach. By discussing the technical, legal, financial, and administrative dimensions of the issue, the event aims to develop innovative proposals for making our cities more resilient to earthquake risks.
