The Department of Urban and Regional Planning Advisory Board Meeting was held online on 8 July 2026.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Şevkiye Şence Türk, Head of the Department. Participants included Advisory Board members Selam Tosun, Deputy Director General of Spatial Planning at the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change; Dr. Berna Keskin, Lecturer at the University of Sheffield, School of Geography and Planning, Director of the Real Estate Master’s Program, and External Examiner at the University of Manchester; Dr. Görsev Argın Uz, Director of Training and Projects at the Marmara Municipalities Union and Director of the Local Government Academy; and Sevim Tekeli, Innovation and Commercialization Manager at Leanecocell Oy. The meeting was also attended by Vice Chairs of the Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Sezen Tarakçı and Asst. Prof. Dr. Numan Kılınç.

During the meeting, evaluations were made regarding the department’s educational activities, curriculum development efforts, opportunities for collaboration with public institutions, local governments, the private sector, and international academic networks, as well as the enhancement of graduate competencies. In line with the views and recommendations of the Advisory Board members, proposals aimed at improving the department’s educational quality and international visibility were discussed.
