The Urban and Regional Planning PhD Program aims to educate distinguished professionals, scientists, and academics with an advanced level of expertise in urban theory and policy; the capacity to conduct in-depth analyses of planning systems to address urban problems; the ability to develop alternative ways of thinking through a creative and broad perspective in urban and regional planning; and the competence to integrate qualitative and quantitative methods with current technologies.

Vision: The vision of the Urban and Regional Planning PhD Program is to be a program that evaluates the discipline of urban and regional planning across all scales, is open to international and interdisciplinary cooperation, holds a respected and distinctive position among peer programs in its field, continuously increases its contributions to the country and to global scientific knowledge, and transfers knowledge produced through research and practice to society in line with the public interest.
